So, in an effort to move the hairy butt a little further down the page, I figured I'd show yall a picture of the winning pinewood derby car in the commercial division at Bluffton's most recent cubscout races. We've got a couple subs with young kids who asked if we would help sponsor the event.... and in doing so, we got to enter our own derby car to race against all the other sponsors (about 12 entered cars). So, your's truly spent about 6-7 hours crafting that silver puppy sitting atop the podium. I never did cubscouts as a kid and never raced a pinewood car before either, but those of you who have know how much work and tweaking you can do to these things. I spent a good 2-3 hours researching all the tuning methods on the web... payed off I guess. G and I had a pretty fun time hanging out at the races the other weekend, and I've already about completed my car for next year! Nationals here we come!
... I tend to get addicted to things quite easily I think (at least that's what my lover says)

thank you Clayton. Nice car...but what did all the little kids do when you beat them?
We only raced against other sponsor cars. The kids all raced each other.
But, the dad's usually do most of the building on the kid's cars, and I had one dad (father of the 1st place cubscout car) that making all kinds of comments about mine and how it had a bunch of border-line modifications. I'm suprised he did'nt ask to race.
"Border-line modifications?" Sounds like someone was jealous...

You didn't hide weights in the front did you? That will get your medal taken away.
