She is absolutely beautiful! Who know parenting would be so much fun, huh? Children are truly a gift from God.

We have been registering for baby stuff. Any suggestions like things you really wish you had gotten or any particular things you cant live without. Also what is a good carseat/carrier.

She is a beautiful baby Blake! I can't tell who she looks like though, in one picture she looks like you and then in the next she looks like Betsy.

There’s tons of stuff you need to get and can't live without. You’ll figure it out as you go. Here are some things that we got that have been very helpful.

Here's the first thing you need to know. You want people that give you showers to not give you clothes. Else you'll end up with way too many clothes that will only fit for the first 3 months and you'll be buying all the stuff you really need. We did this by not finding out what the sex was bc its no fun for women to buy gender neutral clothes and the tend to stick to the registry. Not that that was the reason for us not finding out. It was just a by-product of us wanting to be surprised.

Get a Chicco Cortina Travel system. That includes a carseat, stroller, and carseat base. The base stays locked into your car and you just pull the carseat in and out pretty easily with a pull on a latch. This car seat locks better in the stroller than other systems, and it looks a little less motherly which means you won’t feel like such a goob pushing it around.

Third piece of advice, get the car seat checked by Safe Kids Upstate once you've put it in the car. They hold checkpoints throughout the year, you just have to signup for one and get it checked. The latch system is the easiest way to get it installed, however you need to put your whole body on the base in order to get it in tight enough. The firemen at the car seat check can show you how to do that. I didn’t have ours in tight enough when I went, but the guy showed me how to do it, then watched me do it to make sure I knew how. You can buy a second base then to put in your other car so you don’t ever have to move them once you get them put in.

If Mariah is going to nurse, an electronic pump is a necessity if she is going to go back to work. If not, it may not be a necessity unless for some reason she needs to pump a lot. Get a boppy pillow too so when you and Mariah feed the baby, you can just sit the baby on it and still have your arms free to pick stuff up and more importantly to operate the remote to the TV.

You want a digital baby monitor. This keeps other electronics from interfering so you don’t have the huge hiss sound going on all the time.

You want to get a Kidoppotamus to swaddle the baby with. Babies love to be swaddled and these things make it really easy.

If you can find someone who works at a hospital see if they can buy diapers for you bc hospitals get insane discounts on diapers. My sister-in-law is a nurse and gets them for us and it saves us 50%, sometimes more.

Take as many of the nose suction bulbs as you can from the hospital bc nobody makes them as good and you can’t buy them anywhere. Just grab one, put it in a bag and ask for another one when you can. Expect to stay in the hospital for 3 days when you go.

Bumbo seats are awesome, but you won’t need one of those for a couple of months after the baby is born. You don’t need a high-chair until much later, probably 6-12 months. We still don’t have one. While it sounds stupid, Baby Einstein is a life-saver. I can put one of those movies in, sit Morgan in front of it and she’s entertained for 30 minutes so we can get other things done.

Heene, the best car seat is mom. My mom always put me up front with me when she drove and look how I turned out!
